You must make new HSA contribution elections each year. You can change your HSA contribution amount anytime during the year. Changes take effect on the 1st of the month after your request.

You must re-enroll in Health Care and/or Dependent Care FSAs each year during Annual Enrollment. If you do not enroll, your 2027 FSA election will reset to $0.

Annual Enrollment FAQs

Do I need to enroll if I want to keep my current benefits?

Even if you’re happy with your current benefits, take a few minutes to review your elections and 2027 Paycheck Costs during Annual Enrollment, November 2 - 13. You’ll need to take action if you want to change your coverage or add or remove dependents. Review the account election requirements below if you want to contribute to an HSA or FSA.

You must also actively elect your 2027 HSA and FSA contributions. Otherwise, your payroll contributions to these accounts will default to $0.

Submit your elections by 11:59 p.m. CT on November 13.

‍

Do I need to elect my HSA or FSA contributions again?

Yes! You must actively elect to contribute to a Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and/or HSA. Otherwise, your contributions will default to $0 for 2027. An account balance carried forward from a previous year is separate from your election to contribute through your paycheck. Review the 2027 Contribution Limits as you decide how much to set aside.

How do I enroll?

Visit myhelixrewards.ai during Annual Enrollment, November 2–13, 2026, to review your information and choose your benefits.

Check your covered dependents, account contributions, and per-paycheck costs before submitting your elections.

Complete enrollment by 11:59 p.m. CT on November 13.

‍

Can I add or remove dependents during Annual Enrollment?

You can update your covered dependents when you make your benefit elections. Review their information carefully, including names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers.

How do I know my enrollment is complete?

After submitting your elections, you will receive a confirmation page and an email. Reaching this step confirms that you’ve completed enrollment. Save a copy of your confirmation and check that your benefit choices, covered dependents, and contributions are correct. If something doesn’t look right, contact Your Benefit Resources at 1-844-318-7148.

Can I change my elections after I submit them?

Yes, during Annual Enrollment, log in to myhelixrewards.ai and select the Annual Enrollment tile. You can reopen enrollment, change your elections, and resubmit them as many times as needed before 11:59 p.m. CT on November 13.

After Annual Enrollment closes, you can generally change your elections only if you experience a qualifying family status event. Visit Changing Your Elections to learn more.

When do my 2027 benefits take effect?

Your 2027 benefit elections take effect January 1, 2027. Keep your enrollment confirmation handy so you can refer to your choices throughout the year.

Will the medical plan cover GLP-1 medications for weight loss in 2027?

Beginning January 1, 2027, GLP-1 medications used for weight loss will no longer be covered under the Helix medical plan.

This exclusion applies even if you currently take one of these medications or have an existing prior authorization. There are no grandfathering exceptions or continuity-of-care transition supplies under the plan.

If this change affects you, talk with your prescribing provider before January 1 about your treatment and payment options.

‍

Can I use my Health Care FSA or HSA to pay for prescribed weight-loss GLP-1 medications?

Yes. Eligible, medically necessary, prescribed weight-loss GLP-1 medications can be paid for using your Health Care FSA or HSA, even when they are not covered by the medical plan.

  • Health Care FSA: Submit an itemized receipt and a Letter of Medical Necessity from your physician to Fidelity for reimbursement. The receipt must include the patient’s name, provider, date, drug name, and cost.
  • HSA: You can use available account funds directly. Keep the same itemized receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity with your personal tax records in case the IRS requests documentation.
Which pharmacies can I use in 2027?

Your pharmacy network is available through Prime Therapeutics.

  • Specialty prescriptions: Accredo remains the in-network specialty pharmacy for 2027.
  • Maintenance prescriptions: CVS pharmacies are excluded for maintenance medications filled as 90-day supplies. Use mail order or a participating non-CVS retail pharmacy for these prescriptions.
  • Short-term prescriptions: CVS can still be used for covered, non-maintenance 30-day or one-time prescriptions.
  • Sam’s Club: Sam’s Club Pharmacy is in network.

Verify pharmacy participation through Blue Access for Members (BAM) or call the number on the back of your medical ID card.

‍

Is help available with the cost of high-cost prescription medications?

Yes. FlexAccess, available through Prime Therapeutics and BCBSTX, helps eligible members lower their out-of-pocket costs for certain high-cost prescription medications.

Assistance varies by medication and medical plan. PPO members may pay as little as $0 for participating medications. Qualified HDHP members can receive help accessing manufacturer coupons, with specific rules for how assistance counts toward the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.

Visit Prescription Drugs for details and contact information for your plan.

‍

What is the deadline to submit my 2026 FSA claims?

You have until March 31, 2027, to submit claims for eligible expenses incurred during the 2026 plan year under both the Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA.

This is the deadline to submit reimbursement requests; it does not extend the period for incurring 2026 expenses. Keep your receipts and supporting documentation.

‍

Can I enroll in the Health Care FSA if I have Medicare?

Yes. Active employees enrolled in Medicare, including Medicare Part A, can participate in the Health Care FSA, even if they are not enrolled in Helix medical coverage.

You can use the account to reimburse qualified out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses. Health Care FSA eligibility is separate from HSA contribution eligibility.

‍

What benefits are available if I waive Helix medical coverage?

You can still receive or participate in several Helix benefits if you waive medical coverage:

  • Company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage, with buy-up options
  • The company-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • The 401(k) plan
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Fitness Reimbursement
  • Voluntary MetLife Legal, Pet Insurance, and Home and Auto Insurance

Eligibility, enrollment, and program requirements apply.

Omada, Hinge Health, and MDLive require enrollment in Helix’s BCBSTX medical coverage.

‍

Why are medical premiums increasing for 2027?

Premium rates are evaluated annually to reflect broader healthcare inflation, rising medical service costs, and prescription drug trends. Rate adjustments ensure our plan remains financially sound while continuing to offer high-quality coverage.

Review 2027 Paycheck Costs to see the rates for your coverage options.
